Floating Heart
Floating Heart (Nymphoides peltata) makes a great addition to any pond or water garden. Each floating heart plant grows to about 8” around and then shoots off new growth. The leaves resemble small, quarter-sized lily pads. The flower is star-shaped with scalloped, curved, enlaced petals. Very easy growers, these plants are great for surface coverage and algae elimination. They also provide a protection from predators for koi and other fish—especially important for vulnerable young fish. For more vigorous growth, add a teaspoon or two of Miracle Grow® every 8–10 days.
